TIPS ON USING A HARDWOOD FLOORING NAILER

A hardwood flooring nailer can not be used on the first few or last few rows, before using the nailer, there should already be several rows of boards attached to the floor. Fit the next row's boards to be sure that they are the right length and in the right order, put them in place snugly against the already attached rows of boards. Load a row of flooring cleats (nails) into the feeder channel of the hardwood flooring nailer, the nailer should fit snugly against the tongue of the board (the tongue always faces out when you install the floor). Place the flooring nailer against the tongue of the board that you want to nail to the floor, when it is in place, hit the head of the flooring nailer firmly with a rubber mallet, this shoots the cleat (nail) through the tongue of the board (you may have to use more physical force to make it work correctly). When using a hardwood flooring nailer make sure to wear eye protection, protecting your feet is also highly recommended.
