Working Height 7.7m
Platform Height 5.7m
This Access Tower gives a work platform for use by up to two persons, with weight evenly distributed across the platform and is for external and internal applications. The tower requires two competent (and in some cases qualified) persons to assemble it and should only be constructed after a thorough risk assessment has taken place.
Additional Information:
No more than 275kg evenly distributed is to be placed on a single platform and no more than 550kg evenly distributed is to be placed on a pair. The maximum number of working platforms must never exceed two.
An assembly guide which is designed to provide customers with step by step instructions to ensure that the tower is erected easily and safely is also supplied with the tower.
Advance Guardrail Panels (AGR) consist of both horizontal bracing and diagonal bracing members in the panel itself, which can be attached to the tower from a safe guarded position. The horizontal bracing elements within the panel also act as a set of integral guardrails and as such provide automatic guarding in advance to accessing the next level of tower.
The panels are attached by means of the same type of triggered hook as the horizontal and diagonal braces. The triggered hooks are found at the base of the panel and another pair of hooks can be found at the top of the panel. However these hooks are not triggered and are simply placed over the horizontal frame tubes. The triggered hooks at the base are used to positively lock the panel in position.
A PASMA qualification may be required for commercial use, formal qualifications are not required for domestic DIY applications / users.
Dos and Dont's:
To maintain tower stability ensure that the tower is resting on firm, level ground.
Never use bricks or other objects to take the weight of any part of the tower.
Stabilisers must be used if specified in the component guide.
All components supplied must be used to ensure that the tower is of adequate strength (if sections are left out, the tower may collapse).
Never use a tower in strong winds.
Never use a tower as a support for ladders, trestles or other access equipment.
Never use a tower with broken or missing parts or with incompatible components.
When moving a tower you should always reduce the height to a maximum of 4m, check that there are no power lines or other obstructions overhead, check that the ground is firm and level and push or pull the tower using manual effort from the base only.
Never move a tower while people or materials are on the tower or in windy conditions.
