At Brandon Hire Station we hire out the EZiCAT xf-Series of Cable Avoidance Tools which represent the latest design in cable location technology, with digital signal processing (DSP) and intelligent software. They are Network Rail approved and are suitable for a wide range of applications and can be used with the EZiTEX xf-Series Signal Transmitters for increased accuracy and applications. Requiring minimal user training, they are designed to locate buried conductive services by receiving electromagnetic signals which radiate from them, and the intelligent software interprets the signals and provides the operator with an audible and visual response to the position and direction of the buried services. Features include automatic controls, starts in power mode, auto mode, hazard zone, pinpoint assist, In-built test function, service due indicator, highly visible digital LCD display and a robust, light weight design.
Our Cable Avoidance Tools ensure the most potentially dangerous current carrying services are detected first for maximum operator safety. They automatically locate power or radio signals, helping to confirm the presence of services upon initial site occupation making cable detection easier and safer! Buried utilities close to the surface pose a significant safety risk, the Hazard Zone function provides an additional warning to the close proximity of buried services, alerting users to the immediate danger. They maintain the highest peak reading obtained on the signal strength indicator for a period of time, allowing the operator to quickly and accurately pinpoint the service position. The digital LCD display has a built in light sensor that automatically enables a backlight in dark conditions.
